I think we’ve been inundated with words like “difference maker” and “game changer” lately — and really, without action, they are just empty words. “Feel good”, energizing words maybe, but without action they are nothing but verbiage. Intent and rhetoric don’t cash the checks, they don’t put food on the table, they don’t pay the bills — they’re just a thought, a wish or a hope. In this case, hope doesn’t float, it just exists in the dream-state of “we’ll do it tomorrow”.
Nothing happens without action. To be a game changer means you take action at the point of accountability. A game changer by definition influences the outcome of an endeavor, engagement or process. The willingness to change the game must be superseded by the ability to do so. Preparation, talent and willpower are the Holy Grail of accomplishment.
From my perspective, life is a game worth playing. Anything of worth is first earned on the altar of self-sacrifice. Achievement is developed from the willingness to risk and the ability to take the hits that the game of life demands in the bargain to move forward. It’s a scary proposition for some people — these people think life is this big, daunting enterprise. At times it will be, but if we make it a game, accept, understand, change and adapt to the rules we follow (or in some cases, make up), we can then best generate the type of action that will reflect an “Always Forward!” mindset.
Preparation, talent and willpower are the Holy Grail of accomplishment.
Let’s get involved at the point of contact. Let’s get involved and position our presence to influence the outcome. Let’s get engaged. Let’s be active. Let’s be present.
Let’s be “Game Changers”!
