Do You Have the Skill, Feel, Heart and Will of a Game-Changer?

To change the game demands the precision of a skilled surgeon, the feel of an orchestra leader, and the heart and will of a fighter.

  • The heart of a game-changer gives without expectation of a return. Rewards flow from giving. Collaboration and cooperation – time, knowledge, ideas, encouragement, mentorship and support are the capital of a game-changer.
  • The mind of a game-changer bears the stamp of resolve, the spark of curiosity, the willingness to seek, and the ability to apply what is found when the discovery is worthy of application. The game-changer does not debate with herself – she does not question her purpose.
  • The pulse of a game-changer is quickened by the anticipation of challenge, the assumption of risk and the thrill of becoming involved in the game.

Small moments, seemingly insignificant, are often those moments, those decisions, those episodes of our life that create the events that become our destiny.

  • The physical make-up of a game-changer embodies discipline. Discipline begins in the recesses of the mind and then compels the body to follow its dictates.
  • The “Rule Book” of a game-changer is authored through integrity, underscored with passion and followed from the direction of purpose. The rules are established to provide a standard of care both for the game-changer and those they serve.
  • They work with and through allies; they exhibit instinct and common sense. When we add their intellect into the mix, we often find that these people are best able to assess and address what is opportunity and what is unnecessary risk.
  • They have a vibrant rhythm; they are able to consistently direct and achieve the best possible outcomes. They never quit. They do not view success as final or a setback as permanent.
  • They act in accordance with their internal representation of success and they understand the difference between effort and achievement. They communicate their message through their presence and position. They live the spirit of the message.
  • They are able to think and then do to shorten the timeframe between deliberate thought and decisive action. The window of opportunity is always closing. The wins, the successes, are earned by those who seize and make opportunity for themselves. Unless it’s an inheritance (the keys to the company), no one can give you an opportunity. Game-changers embrace this and they make their own opportunities.
  • Game-changers influence their destiny. Destiny is often forged in the moments that elude us in the present. We are often not aware of the moments that comprise the day – in those 24 hours, there are myriad decisions to go forward or pause. Perhaps there is a choice to either venture in a new direction, start on a new road or stay true to the path we’re on. Small moments, seemingly insignificant, are often those moments, those decisions, those episodes of our life that create the events that become our destiny.
